The Kenya Association of Records Managers and Archivists (KARMA) is proud to announce that our Talent Development Programme (KTDP) is in full swing. Launched in November 2024, our inaugural cohort of 9 high-potential records and archives management professionals has embarked on a transformative 24-month journey, backed by experienced mentors and bolstered by strategic industry support.

Program Overview
The KARMA Talent Development Programme (KTDP) is designed and intended to identify and develop a team of high potential records and archives management professionals in Kenya who are energised to take the profession to the next level.
Enrolment to the KTDP is on a competitive basis. Successful applicants shall undergo a series of developmental interventions to solidify their grounding in the profession and position them for higher and more challenging opportunities and responsibilities locally and globally. The programme is modeled on best-practices on talent development globally.
Components Of The Program
The programme involves the following nine activities:
- Intensive and extensive technical training in records and archives management.
- Leadership development training.
- Mentorship sessions with senior professional(s) in and/or outside Kenya.
- Participation in at least one international records/archives conference.
- Publish at least one article on a topic of interest in a reputable journal.
- Involvement in at least one RM project, locally or internationally.
- Involvement in at least one of KARMA’s projects/initiatives/activities.
- Coaching of practicing professionals.
- Mentorship of upcoming (young) professionals (in the KARMA Young Professionals Programme).
Duration
The programme shall run for a period of 24 months, from date of admission. The schedule of activities shall be provided to enrolled participants during their induction.
Eligibility
Beneficiaries of the programme must be fully paid-up (bonafide) members of KARMA.
Enrolment
Enrolment to the programme shall be through a competitive process.
Facilitation
KARMA shall meet participants’ expenses when engaged on the programme’s activities within set parameters.
Participant's Commitment
By accepting admission to the programme, participants shall be committing to be fully engaged in the activities as per provided schedule and calendar. KARMA reserves the right to withdraw participants who will not meet the requirements for completion.
Application Process
Applications to the programme shall be submitted using the prescribed application form during the application period. The application window will open on 1st July 2026 and close on 31st July 2026.
